Old English Teacher Update |
|
By Terry Hartley on 6/10/2001 |
On June 7th I entered the 12-step program for recovering teachers. After 32 years I am kicking the habit. Does that make me officially the last member of the Class of '65 to get out of high school?
We are leaving soon for a couple of weeks in the Colorado Rockies, then it's home to spend the last few days with our German exchange student (number nine) before he goes home. In August our Japanese student (number eight) is coming to visit. Once all that calms down, I am about seventeen years behind on the five-year rehab plan for this old farm house we bought in 1979.
If and when I get bored with life, I'll look for something part time, but to be perfectly honest, having a job always got in the way of all the things I had to do. Carol plans to continue teaching, and I have no plans to discourage her.
Becki has finished her freshman year at Bowling Green and is transferring to OSU. She is currently learning to hang bumpers on Accords at the Marysville Honda plant. That's right, she's a Hondroid.
John has finished elementary school and is still cheering because school is out for the summer.
Hope this finds everyone well, safe and happy.
