Jeff Logan Dies Unexpectedly

Jeff A. Logan, 53, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in the Ohio State University Medical Center East.

He was a lifelong Morrow County resident, born on July 23, 1947, the son of Jack E. and Ruth E. Lutz Logan, who survive of Mt. Gilead. As a youth he was active in Boy Scouting achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1965 and received his B.S. in Ag Economics from The Ohio State University in 1969.

Jeff was a lifelong farmer where he was involved with the potato operation of Logan Farms, Inc. He was also the President of Milos, Inc. in Johnstown. His memberships include Alpha Tau Zeta and Alpha Zeta Fraternities, Marion Madrigal Singers, Trinity United Methodist Church and Choir, and the Ohio Potato Growers Association where he served on the Board of Directors. He had been very active in theater performances in both Marion and Mt. Gilead and also enjoyed music and reading.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Debra K. Norris Logan, whom he married June 11, 1994; two brothers and sisters-in-law Ted & Deb Logan of Mt. Gilead, OH, and Kent & Deb Logan of Englewood, OH; a sister and brother-in-law Jane & Don Schriver of Weatherby Lake, Missouri; nephews and nieces.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Rev. Bruce Hartley and Rev. Gerald Bell will officiate funeral services Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Bryn Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Alpha Zeta or the Boy Scouts in care of the funeral home.
