Phil Shirk, 55, formerly of St. Rt. 61 N, Mt. Gilead died Oct. 8, 2002 in an automobile accident near Phoenix, Arizona.
He was born in Galion, Ohio on July 28, 1947, the son of the late Everett and Julia Campbell Shirk. He graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a sales representative in Denver. Phil enjoyed sailing, skiing, music and the mountains of Colorado.
He is survived by his wife Wynne Shaw of Lonetree, Colorado; a step-daughter Erin of Lonetree, CO; a brother Cal (Donna) Shirk of Mt. Gilead, OH; a sister Portia (Gillaurmo) Bosch of Collegeville, PA; and four nieces and nephews Matthew & Drew Shirk, Whitney & Tristan Tolliver.
Rev. Bruce Hartley will hold a Celebration of Life for Phil on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at Snyder Funeral Homes.
